UN ambassador KC Concepcion celebrates birthday with orphans

Young actress and United Nations World Food Programme national ambassador KC Concepcion meaningfully celebrated her birthday in advance with orphaned kids Tuesday morning at the Marco Polo Children’s Center of Virlanie Foundation in Makati City.

Hosted by the World Food Programme (WFP), Concepcion visited the orphanage at 10 in the morning. She was welcomed by the children with smiles and hugs. She then helped to provide food to the children.

The model-turned actress spent her time with the kids with the help of Valerie Guarnieri, Director and Representative to the Philippines.

The event highlights the work of WFP to end hunger and support vulnerable people in the Philippines.

Concepcion, who will turn 23 on April 7th, provided sacks of rice from WFP, which is sufficient to meet the needs of the children for two months.

KC, Maria Kristina Cassandra Concepcion in real life, is the daughter of Sharon "The Megastar" Cuneta and controversial comeback actor Gabby Concepcion.

Last February, Concepcion was designated as WFP’s national Ambassador Against Hunger specifically to raise awareness of hunger and promote WFP activities in the Philippines.

She was also launched as the newest ABS-CBN TV star and had her acting debut on the country’s longest-running drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya".

This April, catch Concepcion's birthday special "I AM KC" on ABS-CBN every Saturday after 1 vs 100 on ABS-CBN.
